About Rest Theory

Rest Theory exists because most sleep products are designed to sell, not to work.

Walk into any big-box store or scroll through Amazon and you'll find hundreds of sleep products — weighted blankets designed for aesthetics, white noise machines that top out at too low a volume to mask real noise, sleep masks made from materials that trap heat. They look the part. They don't always do the job.

We built Rest Theory around a different question: what does the research actually say about what affects sleep quality? Not what's popular, not what photographs well — what works, mechanically, based on how sleep physiology actually functions.

The answer came down to four variables: light, sound, temperature, and body position. Every single product in the Rest Theory catalog was selected because it addresses at least one of those variables in a measurable way. We don't carry products that are merely comfortable or aspirational. We carry products that do something specific to your sleep environment.

We also made a deliberate decision not to sell supplements. Not because they're ineffective across the board — some have real evidence behind them — but because the environmental interventions come first. You can't supplement your way out of a bedroom that's too warm, too loud, and too bright. Fix the environment, then optimize from there.

Rest Theory is a small, direct-to-consumer brand. We don't have a physical retail presence, we don't do influencer hauls, and we don't run flash sales. We ship products we'd use ourselves, we stand behind them with a 30-night guarantee, and we respond to every support email within 24 hours.

That's the whole model. Build the environment. Sleep better.
